This is a graphical representation of the name “umbrella cells” which is given to the innermost layer of the urothelium (transitional epithelium) which lines the urinary bladder and ureters.
The umbrella cells are also called dome shaped cells, they can be binucleated and in empty bladder their domes cover many of the underlying cells and by its tight junctions they protect the rest of the wall of the bladder from urine , just like an umbrella does protect us from rain😂😂
